Bowers Bradford are looking to recruit two experienced Grinding Technicians, on a full-time basis working Monday to Friday. These opportunities will have a good level of job variety, challenge and satisfaction for the right candidates.

Reporting to the Grinding Department Supervisor and working within the Grinding Department the primary responsibility of the Grinding Technician is to program, set and operate various grinding machines.

The Grinding Technician will complete CNC processes by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans and specifications. This role will produce components to manufacturing specifications, whilst being conscious of the size and accuracy throughout the production process. Other duties include performing minor equipment maintenance, completing required paperwork and complying with shop floor SOP’s and Health & Safety regulations.

In order to be successful in this role applicants will have a good level of academic achievement, ideally within a Mechanical Engineering Discipline. Candidates will need previous experience working within a similar high precision environment and have a proven understanding of manual machinist responsibilities.

We are looking for confident individuals with a great work ethic, methodical and logical approach to work. The ability to follow verbal / written instruction, with time management and organisational skills is essential. An excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail will be required.

Applicants will need to be flexible / adaptable to changing work demands and comfortable working under pressure. Self-motivated and enthusiastic with good communication skills, applicants will need to be both happy to work as part of a team plan and on own initiative.
