Design Engineer

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

    BBowers Group have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join the Team. Reporting to the Technical Director, the jobholder will develop ideas to design new products or a range of products and provide engineering support through all phases of product development and manufacture, furthermore, be committed to maintaining and ensuring continuous improvement of performance of manufactured products.

    To be considered for this role applicants must be:

    • Educated to degree / HNC level within a Mechanical Engineering related discipline and with previous relatable work-based experience.
    • Experienced in working with metals and / or plastics, with substantial experience of designing components manufactured using conventional machining tools, i.e., Milling / Turning / Grinding.
    • Competent in understanding and designing small mechanical assemblies, metal components, moulds to house electronic components and products with IP ratings.
    • Able to demonstrate practical ability of assembling and carrying out functional testing of products, with dexterity to ensure products perform to micron accuracy.
    • Excellent understanding of designing parts to tight tolerances, including use of geometrical tolerancing, combined with good knowledge, and understanding of technical design, the print process and engineering manufacturing procedures.
    • In possession of excellent IT skills with demonstrable experience of using AutoCAD and Inventor (or other). Good working knowledge of quality standards and application.
