Field Service Engineer


Home Based - with regular travel (ideally located in the West Midlands)


    Bowers Group are looking to recruit for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their Baty Service Team; this is an exciting role offering the successful candidate great levels of variety, challenge and opportunity to drive this area of the Bowers Group.

    Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer will play a key role in supporting the businesses customers and worldwide distributors through service, calibration and technical assistance.

    Working within the West Midlands region, the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for customer site service visits; calibration and training of Optical products; provision of expertise, advice, guidance and assistance to customers; attending to breakdown calls on Optical products; completing site visit reports and creating calibration certificates from recorded data, whilst ensuring all processes are completed in line with our ISO9001 procedures.

    The successful candidate will maintain up to date, detailed knowledge and understanding of product portfolio, attend product specific training in Group offices and with Worldwide Suppliers and will ensure continuous awareness of product changes, improvements and developments.

    The successful candidate will have experience in Mechanical and / or Electronic Engineering, gained from within a field-based service role; along with an excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical and software-based products.

    Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with an excellent work ethic, applicants must have first-class communication skills and be in possession of effective interpersonal and relationship management skills; with good experience of planning and organising personal workload, and a capacity to work under pressure to tight deadlines. Our ideal candidate can adapt to changing work demands, work proactively, independently and flexibly and will be driven to deliver their KPIs to a consistently high standard.

    Furthermore, applicants will be in possession of a valid Full UK driving licence and must be committed to regular UK travel and periods working away from home.
