With products ranging from simple engineers’ hand tools, such as gauges for checking threads, diameters and tapers of machined components, to highly sophisticated and specialized measuring systems, such as precision bore gauges, material testing equipment and optical and video measuring machines.

Bowers Bradford are looking to recruit a Production Inspector to join their Quality Department, on a full-time basis working Monday to Friday. This opportunity will have a good level of job variety, challenge and satisfaction for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Works Manager, with dotted supervisory accountability to the Production Inspection Supervisor, the Production Inspector’s principal job purpose will be that of ensuring the efficient inspection and calibration of the Bowers range of manufactured micrometers, gauges and master setting rings in accordance with UKAS accreditation. The role will require a quality focused approach to work with excellent attention to detail and the delivery of responsibilities in accordance with established SOP’s and standards.

To be successful in this position, applicants will have a time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, with previous experience working within a busy and often demanding engineering environment.

Candidates will be confident individuals with a great work ethic and a methodical, logical approach to work. The ability to follow verbal / written instruction, with time management and organisational skills, and an excellent level of accuracy essential.

In addition, applicants will need to be flexible and adaptable to changing work demands, and comfortable working under pressure. Self-motivated and enthusiastic with good communication skills, applicants will be both happy to work as part of a team plan and on own initiative
