Bowers’ Height Gauge Measures Extremely Large Diameters

Bowers Metrology UK has recently announced the launch of the advanced Sylvac Hi_Cal XZ height gauge range. Benefiting from Sylvac's patented inductive measuring electronics, the new height gauges provide the user outstanding accuracy, excellent repeatability and ease of use. By the use of an imaginative dual probing arrangement, Hi_Cal XZ height gauges are able to perform very accurate, simultaneous measurement and display of both X and Y axis results. Available in two sizes, with maximum height measuring capacities of 135mm and 285mm, the innovative new Sylvac height gauges boast an independent X axis giving them the unique capability of measuring extremely large internal and external diameters.

By locating large parts such as aero engine casings and pump components on an inspection table, in a horizontal plane, by use of the Hi_Cal XZ’s integrated sliding rail and X axis probe, extremely large ODs and IDs can be very accurately measured. Such is the versatility of Sylvac’s ingenious Hi_Cal XZ height gauges, the limiting factor relating to the size of diameter capable of being measured is an inspection table’s dimensions. The Hi_Cal XZ’s precise large diameter gauging feature negates the need for cumbersome and less accurate shop floor instruments such as beam gauges and large diameter micrometers.

Ideal for a wide range of shop floor measuring tasks, the robust yet portable Sylvac height gauges occupy a relatively small footprint. In addition to large diameter measurement, the new multifunction Sylvac instruments can undertake a multitude of gauging tasks, including metric inch conversions, step heights, Min/Max/Delta routines and centre line distances calculations. With impressive Z and X axis accuracy specifications of 3um and 2um respectively, the new Sylvac height gauges present their measured result on an easy to read hi-definition LED display.

Bowers Metrology UK’s Sales Engineers are happy to demonstrate the merits of the new Hi_Cal XZ range to all potential customers, particularly those with problematical large internal and external diameters that need to be accurately measured.
