Bowers Group are looking for a Production Planner to play a central role in the smooth and efficient running of our manufacturing operation in Bradford. Working closely with the Production Manager, you’ll take ownership of all production planning activities, ensuring materials, capacity and schedules are aligned to meet customer demand while maintaining accurate stock levels across the business.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the MRP process within SAP, maintaining accurate data, safety stock levels and planning parameters to support uninterrupted production. You’ll develop and execute build plans, release and manage works orders, and apply planning time fences to ensure stability on the shop floor. Working closely with Sales, you’ll align forecasts with production requirements, manage abnormal demand and make-to-order requests, and develop forward-looking plans that support future orders and business growth.
You’ll also play a key role in maintaining stock accuracy, investigating discrepancies, correcting works orders when shortages arise, and supporting quarterly safety stock reviews and annual stock takes alongside the Finance team. From preparing inspection and packing lists to maintaining due date order lists, your attention to detail and structured approach will underpin day-to-day operational performance.
What about you? Ideally, you will have previous experience in a manufacturing environment, with a solid understanding of production planning principles. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfortable working with ERP systems such as SAP (training will be provided if required). Organised, analytical and proactive, you’ll be someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly and enjoys being at the heart of a busy production operation.
