QHSE Manager

Bradford

Full-time | Permanent

Passionate about quality, safety and continuous improvement? Ready to make a real difference?

Bowers Group are looking for a QHSE Manager to lead quality, health, safety and environmental management across the business. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll play a key role in maintaining high standards, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement across our products, processes and working environments.

You’ll take ownership of our Quality Management System, oversee audits, investigate quality issues, support customer queries and monitor supplier performance. You’ll also maintain and develop the systems and procedures required for our UKAS-accredited calibration laboratory, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 17025, alongside other relevant standards and legislation. This will include overseeing calibration programmes and technical audits to ensure our equipment and laboratory processes continue to meet the required standards.

Health and safety will be a key part of your role. You’ll develop policies, manage risk assessments, investigate accidents and near misses, and work with colleagues to promote a positive safety culture. You’ll also lead our employee Health & Safety Committee and drive actions that help maintain a safe working environment. Alongside this, you’ll oversee environmental management activities, promote best practice and support our commitment to reducing environmental impact and achieving Net Zero, ensuring we meet relevant environmental and regulatory requirements.

We’re looking for someone with quality management and continuous improvement experience, ideally within manufacturing or engineering. You’ll have a good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and hold a recognised health and safety qualification, such as a NEBOSH Diploma. Experience with ISO 17025-accredited laboratories, auditing, metrology or calibration would be advantageous.

You’ll be organised, detail-focused and confident working with people at all levels. You’ll also manage and support a team of two, building strong working relationships across the business and helping drive improvements. Strong problem-solving, communication and project management skills are essential, alongside a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and turning them into practical solutions. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, engineering drawings and geometrical tolerancing would also be beneficial.

The role is based on-site in Bradford and involves some UK travel, so a full driving licence is required.

If you’re ready to help us maintain high standards and make a positive impact across Bowers Group, we’d love to hear from you. Drop us an email telling us why this is the role for you, along with your CV and salary expectations (careers@spearandjacksongroup.com).

Please note that you must have the Right to Work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
