Bowers Bradford are looking for a CNC Process Engineer to join our growing production engineering team. The CNC Process Engineer will drive improvements and daily operations related to our CNC Machining Processes.

Bowers Bradford are looking for a CNC Process Engineer to join our growing production engineering team. The CNC Process Engineer will drive improvements and daily operations related to our CNC Machining Processes. The responsibilities include creation & control of all CNC Programs, tool sourcing and cycle time reduction, defining machine specifications and developing systems to meet both Production Quality & Output demands.

You will need to have great experience, be qualified to at least HNC in Mechanical & Production Engineering and have good knowledge of the machine and cutting tool industry.

To be considered for this role applicants will desirably have:

  • HNC Mechanical Engineering qualification (or equivalent) alongside a time served apprenticeship will be required
  • Experience of programming using CADCAM software
  • Proficient in creation and modification of CNC code ‘at the machine’
  • Previous experience working on Turn / Mill or Mill / Turn Multi-Axis Machines
  • Experience in a similar high precision environment, with proven understanding of CNC machinist responsibilities
  • Experience in modern CNC tooling and application will be required
  • Experience machining ferrous and non-ferrous metals including steel, aluminium, and brass
  • Good level of H&S understanding - safety conscious
  • Previous experience of operating Nakamura, Citizen sliding head and DMG MORI mill/turn machines is preferred
  • Ability to read complex technical/engineering drawings with a good understanding of tolerancing/geometrical tolerancing
  • Methodical & logical approach to work with excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail
