Group Quality Manager

Bowers Bradford are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Manager to join their team. This is an exciting role offering the successful candidate great levels of variety, challenge, and opportunity to drive this area of Bowers.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the principal objective of the Quality Manager is to ensure that Bowers Group products are fit for purpose, are consistent and meet both external and internal requirements, coordinating the internal activities to ensure such quality standards are achieved.

To be considered for this role applicants will desirably have:

  • Educated to degree / HNC level or strong Mechanical Engineering background
  • Ideally lead auditor trained
  • Competent in preparation of uncertainty budget analysis for measurement standards
  • Competent in providing technical advice on metrology issues
  • Good working knowledge & application of quality investigations and report writing
  • Ability to read engineering drawings with a sound understanding of geometrical tolerancing
  • Experience in the use and calibration of Bore Gauging equipment
  • Procedure writing and maintenance of company standards and documentation
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced and often demanding engineering environment
  • Demonstrable Metrology / Calibration experience preferable
  • Experience in a quality management role
  • Lead Auditor training knowledge and experience
  • Experience of managing a quality system within an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory and ISO 9001:2015
  • Experience of performing Gauge R&R studies
  • Experience of operating at management level
  • Excellent Computer skills including Microsoft Office specifically, Excel, Word & PowerPoint, and SAP experience advantageous
