Senior Purchasing & Procurement Manager

Bradford – predominantly site based (occasional home-working)

Full-time / Permanent

Are you interested in making your mark in a newly created, leading role, with a global leader in Metrology solutions?

Are you an experienced procurement and supply chain professional looking to take the lead on all purchasing and procurement activities? If so, this could be the role for you!

This is a newly created role that sits on the senior leadership team and reports directly to the Managing Director. You’ll provide inspirational and inclusive leadership to a small purchasing team across all UK sites and will manage the entire purchasing operation alongside the supply chain to ensure best value for all purchased products and services is maintained and annual cost savings are generated.

This is a varied role requiring both a hands-on and strategic approach. You’ll be involved in carrying out regular supply chain risk analysis to ensure product availability, tracking raw material prices to ensure increases are reduced to a minimum, implementing a vendor assessment programme, and continually monitoring stock to reduce/avoid financial stock provisions from being incurred. You’ll be visiting suppliers in the UK but also in India, China and the Far East so will need excellent business acumen and knowledge of the cultural norms, together with a good knowledge of their supply chains. If you speak Mandarin that would be great but if not, don’t worry – we still want to hear from you if you believe you have what we are looking for.

What about you? You’ll be CIPS qualified (minimum level 5) and will have experience of operating in a similar, fast moving, commercially focussed role within the manufacturing/engineering sector and have experience in using SAP in an engineering / manufacturing environment. You will be adept at dealing with and understanding technical information and will demonstrate a successful track record of managing complex product ranges, costs, margins, future demand, and market life cycle. An aptitude for building great relationships and being a trusted advisor to Directors is key to your success,

You probably want to know more about the business – our products, our plans, and our history.
