Bowers Group is pleased to announce its commitment to being a Real Living Wage Employer through its accreditation from the Living Wage Foundation.
At Bowers Group, we believe that fair pay is fundamental to valuing our people and strengthening our organisation. As part of this commitment, we have adopted the Living Wage, ensuring that every employee earns a minimum of £13.45 per hour. This rate is higher than the government’s current minimum for workers aged 21 and over (£12.71 per hour).
By choosing to pay the Living Wage, the company is investing directly in the wellbeing and security of its workforce. This uplift means our colleagues can better meet the rising costs of everyday life, enjoy greater financial stability, and ultimately achieve a higher standard of living.
Steve McAllorum, Group Managing Director, said: “We are proud to be accredited as a Living Wage Employer. Our employees are instrumental to our success as a business, and we want to make sure they are fairly rewarded.”
The Living Wage Foundation is an organisation at the heart of the independent movement of employers, people and communities who believe in work that works for everyone. Together they are driving up employment standards so that everyone has a decent standard of living now and in the future. Through their Living Wage, Living Hours and Living Pension accreditations, they champion and celebrate employers who make an ongoing commitment to do the right thing by their employees by providing the security and freedom they need to thrive.
The Living Wage Foundation’s real Living Wage remains the only UK wage rate independently calculated based on the cost of living, rising annually based on living costs. It gives employers the confidence they are paying a wage that meets everyday needs, not just the government minimum. Over 16,000 accredited employers have secured over £3.85 billion of pay rises for low paid workers since 2011 and made a profound difference to millions of lives around the UK.
