Different metals need to be tested according to different hardness testing standards, whether it’s using a Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers or a Universal machine.   • alphaDUR Mini
    The alphaDUR mini is the smaller variant of the alphaDUR which has been successfully used in hardness testing for many years. The technology is identical, and all the current accessories are compatible. The alphaDUR mini is very easy to operate because all the information is shown on the large screen display. The hardness scale and material can be quickly changed by the touch of a button. Measurements can be done quickly and accurately. The measured value is displayed directly after the test load has been applied. A test load between 1 and 10 kg can be chosen depending on the application, probe, and the sample surface. The test load should be applied steadily, shock-free and along the probe. The test is done perpendicular to the test surface. Differences > 5° from the perpendicular will cause a significant error in the measured result. The minimum distance from the edge of the sample must be 5mm and the minimum distance between indents must be 1mm for harder material and 3mm for softer material.

  • INNOVATEST Hawk Rockwell Machine
    The Hawk series of Rockwell testers are a new range of hardness testers with a USP of a nose mounted indenter. The addition of the nose mounted load cell means that force is applied from directly above the indenter, this negates a “trenching” effect where the indenter can be dragged through the sample in the case of other testers where the load is applied through a lever arm. Protruding nose Rockwell hardness testing machines providing ‘’inside’’ testing capacity with unique new features. The HAWK series can test internal diameters as small as 22mm. Inside cylinders, pipes, bores, key-nuts, U shaped parts, nuts, bolts, spacers, cardan shafts, gear box parts, any parts with difficult to reach test spots or just on flat materials as any other Rockwell hardness tester could do. The long protruding nose allows you to reach test points as far as 165mm inside a bore or just on flat material like any other Rockwell hardness tester. The nose provides a throat depth of 200mm on models 250RS and 400RS-IMP. Hardness testing on any component without being hindered by a regular test head allowing an excellent overview on the workpiece.
