  • alphaDUR Mini
The alphaDUR mini is the smaller variant of the alphaDUR which has been successfully used in hardness testing for many years. The technology is identical, and all the current accessories are compatible. The alphaDUR mini is very easy to operate because all the information is shown on the large screen display. The hardness scale and material can be quickly changed by the touch of a button. Measurements can be done quickly and accurately. The measured value is displayed directly after the test load has been applied. A test load between 1 and 10 kg can be chosen depending on the application, probe, and the sample surface. The test load should be applied steadily, shock-free and along the probe. The test is done perpendicular to the test surface. Differences > 5° from the perpendicular will cause a significant error in the measured result. The minimum distance from the edge of the sample must be 5mm and the minimum distance between indents must be 1mm for harder material and 3mm for softer material.

  • Indenters For All Hardness Scales
With official calibration certificates UKAS, DKD or ASTM. CV Instruments offers a wide range of indenters. All certified indenters will be issued with a certificate traceable to internationally recognised standards such as UKAS, DKD or ASTM. We also offer low cost factory certified indenters and specials (see below). Specials CV Instruments also offer special adapters for indenters to enlarge the field of application. Small gooseneck adapters are available in three sizes to permit regular or superficial Rockwell hardness testers to perform internal tests on rings, tubes and annular parts where the inside diameter, plus the wall thickness, is less than 50.8mm or 2". These adapters will fit any of the standard Rockwell hardness testers. The gooseneck adapter can be clamped into the bottom of the plunger rod (in the same manner as an indenter) and is not heavy enough to affect a reading due to increasing the applied load. The minimum internal diameter which can be tested is 11.5mm or 7/16". Ask for our separate product list of indenters.

  • Coating Thickness Gauge TT-270
The measuring methods of the TT-270 are magnetic induction (F) and eddy current (N). When a F series probe is connected, the unit measures non-magnetic coating on ferro substrates, when a N series probe is connected, the unit measures non-conductive coating on non-ferro substrates.
